Combined HDR and Honours Conference.

The Division of SCMP is holding a one-day conference to be held on Friday, 17 October, 2008 at the MGSM Executive Hotel and Conference Centre, Macquarie University, NSW. The conference is open to future research candidates, interested researchers and Higher Degree Research and Honours students from Macquarie University. The conference is free of charge (and lunch will be provided) but an RSVP of participation or attendance is required by 25 July 2008.

Papers (15-20 mins long) are welcome on any research topics relevant to the following disciplines: anthropology, philosophy, cultural studies, media, international communications, sociology, Indigenous studies and women's studies.

Abstracts (200-300 words) are to be sent by 25 July 2008 to:

Accepted papers will be peer-reviewed and it is proposed that a selection will be published digitally in our online journal Neo. The completed papers should be 4000-6000 words and are due October 31 with an intended publication date in mid June 2009.
