Is Australia a Christian nation?

Associate Professor Marion Maddox, Director of the Centre for Research on Social Inclusion, will be co-presenting at a seminar on this important topic. The second co-presenter will be Associate Professor Stuart Piggin, Director, Centre for the History of Christian Thought and Experience, Department of Ancient History.

Date: Tues 12th August

Format: Two presentations followed by Q&A time

Warawara Seminar Series, Semester Two - Stephen Muecke to Present and be Podcast

Professor Stephen Muecke will be presenting a paper broadly 'On Cultural Studies' within a frame of exploring the identity of Indigenous Studies on the 27th of August in the Blackshield Room, Building W3A 501, as part of Warawara's second semester Seminar Series. Other engaging scholars in the series also include Dr lrene Watson and Dr. Kristina Everett

The Series will be launched on the 13th of August with an informal 'Munch Box/Lunch Vox' - an informal dialogue exploring the identity of Indigenous Studies: What it might be and perhaps what it 'should' be. This will segue into the more formal series, beginning with the presentation by Stephen.

All are welcome - bring your experiences, thoughts and a sandwich to unpack...

Media Screen Production Student wins Hope Award

Congratulations to Brendon Brown Killen who won a Hope Award for his documentary “Less than Perfect”. “Less than Perfect” was made while Brendon was a B Media Screen Production student at Macquarie. He also won awards with his MAS 325 documentary, “Rob Tim Tom”

ARC Workshop Series 2008

Intending applicants to the next round of ARC Discovery (applications due Feb 2009 for funding commencing 2010) are urged to take advantage of an upcoming series of workshops organised by the Macquarie Learning & Teaching Centre.

The workshops will cover:
Preparing for the ARC - Section E
Preparing for the ARC - Project and Budget
Preparing for the ARC - the 100 word summary
Preparing for the ARC - Section B
Preparing for the ARC - How Assessors Read Applications
