Department of Philosophy awarded a University Research Infrastructure Block Grant (RIBG)
A University Research Infrastructure Block Grant (RIBG) has been awarded to four Philosophy staff. Tim Bayne, Catriona Mackenzie, Peter Menzies and John Sutton (along with three colleagues in Psychology and Cognitive Science) have been awarded $73,378 for their project "Database of Philosophy and Psychopathology: a new research tool for ethics, cognitive science, and philosophy of psychology at Macquarie". They will design and establish the first searchable database of theoretically significant single case studies in psychopathology and cognitive neuropsychology. Its core use is in philosophy and cognitive science, with applications in psychology, psychiatry, law, and bio/neuroethics. The infrastructure grant, coordinated by John Sutton, will support six collaborative projects which seek to advance cross-disciplinary understanding of amnesias, delusions, and disorders of agency and volition.
